I do actually. Though I don't only beat myself up because of it. If my mistakes or imperfection hurts someone, I tend to cut ties with them or distance myself from them because I know they deserve more than this.
GreyWorld · 26-30
@UnicornSparkles: Sorry to hear that, you deserve better.

Cutting ties isn't that great for both parties involved. The people we're close with are hurt and it hurts us even more. I've cut off ties with a handful of people in my life - some I regret, others I don't - the rest I just distance myself away from them.

"I don't want to hurt you." It's the kind of thought that goes through my mind every time.

@GreyWorld: ironically the cutting ties part hurts most of all.
GreyWorld · 26-30
@UnicornSparkles: Yeah. It hurts. But to mend a bone that didn't heal right, you have to break it.

SW-User
Yeah. I never learned how to cope with being average.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Maybe you just got mindfucked by your dad as a kid like I did.
SW-User
@NigelDoes: Yeah, that's probably it.
SW-User
Same... Whenever something goes wrong, it's like "what did you do?"

It's now become a "what did I do" whenever something bad happens.
I think we see our flaws when others dont. Yes, I am forever questioning myself and what I am all about. I dont want to be perfect but to be better.☺
Yes. It has been a major obstacle for me.

How could you be mean to yourself for not being perfect
SW-User
i don't know. I'm very hard on myself for some reason
SW-User
No, being perfect would be horrible. Life isn't a problem to solve, it's a mystery to live. You have more fun on the journey than reaching the destination. I like having things to improve on. Besides, people can't relate to perfection because no one is perfect. Those who are seen as perfect, like superman or some celebrities who do too well- people "hate" on them or find them boring.
SW-User
not being perfect is the best part
cycleman · 61-69, M
why be bothered ? get laughing at yourself with all the mistakes. Otherwise you are going down in being your own worst enemy with your thinking. I know! It is not good, it is Frustrating and self defeating. I am too good at doing to myself too often!
JoserJekter · 26-30
You start by stopping, and you continue by making a habit out of it.
Yes, I deal with that a lot.
But I am perfect.
SW-User
i've accepted my inadequacy
Peaceful · F
Who the fuck is perfect? I've met many people including famous people, haven't found a perfect one yet.
Not really, when I evaluate things seriously. But I probably am my worst critic overall.
SW-User
Yea, I am my own as well
