I suppose it could be argued that we have some extent of control over the evolution of other organisms. In a closed system, for instance, we can effectively control the evolution of things from bacteria and plant life to dogs and livestock via artificial selection. With respect to or own evolution, though, there’s no doubt in my mind that we have no control.

I always think people who protest too much about evolution just want an excuse to do something that they really shouldn’t.
