I always hope for much bigger but most of the time I am disappointed

SW-User
@Mossflower :) Yeah big hopes have a way of disappointing. It tests us in how well we keep picking ourselves up and fighting along.
Mamapolo2016 · F
Smaller matters are normally dependent on me, and I don't change much. I will be preparing my breakfast tomorrow, same as today, so there's not much hope there. I go for the bigger things, and hope others will change and kinda sweep me along with them. I

@GreenFlower I so think this is true!

I like to hope bigger. Otherwise opportunities are easier missed, I think. :)

I constantly get excited over minor stuff, like having a nice breakfast for example. So yeah, I think I hold a little hope for those things. On the other hand bigger things are mostly unpredictable and holding too much hope has always led me to disappointments, so I avoid doing that as much as possible - I always try to take whatever happens. 😌

SW-User
@Elessar I like that attitude! (Simple things excite me too, lol).

I don't put an upper or lower limit on my hopes, but I always do my best to keep them in perspective.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@SW-User Usually. 😂

SW-User
@UndeadPrivateer Yes. Usually. LOL. I've seen glimpses of teetering off center. 🤣

@SW-User 🤣
I hope to be a published author and photographer. Definitely the big things.
As far as breakfast is concerned, I can better it in just 15 minutes. Not much effort needed. And why hope for something that you can change on your own?

@Blepboopity Sometimes all people can dare is for the smaller things.
I can't stop the war in Syria but doesn't mean I can't help the people. Everything you do matters.
More power to you. 😁

I posted something about this earlier ... It's the smaller things that sometimes get you by

SW-User
@juiceyangel333 Oh. Great minds and all. :D And I agree.

I'm watchin' Sis
Go pitterpat.
Said,
"I can do that,
I can do that."
Knew ev'ry step
Right off the bat.
Said,
"I can do that,
I can do that."
One morning Sis won't go to dance class
I grabbed her shoes and tights and all,
But my foot's too small,
So,
I stuff her shoes
With extra socks,
Run seven blocks
In nothin' flat.
Hell,
I can do that,
I can do that.
I got to class
And had it made,
And so I stayed
The rest of my life.
All thanks to Sis
(Now married and fat),
I can do this.
That I can do!
I can do that._A Chorus Line
I can reboot the Cheerios,no problem,but since I have no Sis no pitter-pat,which is fine;today was good,I accomplished a lot of small things AND reconnected with a dear friend..I even found an missing book on supplements😉
But if hope is tthe thing with feathers I'm dancing with Hope!
That I can do!

They do but sometimes one must retain hope through the bad days,"the plague years"

SW-User
@bookerdana one must. Like a life line.
bookerdana · M
@SW-User Anyway,I'm so past breakfast!😺
revenant · F
I need to hope BIG and even not very rational for small stuff just bores me unfortunately.

SW-User
@revenant That's cool. What kind of thing excites you?
revenant · F
@SW-User irrational dreams :)

SW-User
@revenant :)
One needs a project to have hopes. I can't really afford a big project right now, or else a very elusive one.
BabyLonia · F
I was once at the point where just getting through the next hour was a blessing, getting through a day was a struggle....small matters got me through that time, never disregard just how important they can be

SW-User
@BabyLonia Precisely! Sometimes the smaller and even more mundane hopes keep us going in a way the bigger things cannot.

SW-User
I always try and focus on the little things..I have problems with being overwhelmed

SW-User
@SW-User Fair enough. :)
Equanimous · 51-55, M
I handle it with lunch but yes hope is always upward from where we are.
ThePenguin · 26-30, M
hah!
I abandoned all hope a while ago.
I abandoned all hope a while ago.

SW-User
@ThePenguin Everyone should have a little hope. If only a tiny one.
ThePenguin · 26-30, M
a drowning man needs a branch to hold on to. When he is devoid of that he doesn't need hope, he needs a miracle.
