Neither and both.

1/ Because I could develop dependency on the validation and I don't like that, and because I may not match what they are expecting of me, I wouldn't focus on them for my self perceptions.

I don't feel comfortable when recieving positive feedback. That doesn't mean I have to respond negatively or prefer those who lack manners. Often those who feel the need to emphasize my flaws do lack manners. Thisn't just about physical beauty. They have their own ends from the communication.

2/ Even in the above cases, they both can give constructive criticism from time to time. And have lot to teach me. They both maybe in need of compassion and support. I would give them my focus then.

Many people think they’re not good enough and gravitate toward opinions which support that belief. A type of confirmation bias.

i focus on myself. Given the option id focus on the 10 bc im not a loser.

People who try to talk me down consume energy. Makes me avoid them.

treat them all equally....that status can change..

2 people who make me feel ugly.

I'd rather focus on the 7 who make me feel silly. *_*

10 can make 2 irrelevant any day. :)
