Am I advancing spirituality?When I was atheist I was into communism and was anti fascist.

I use to watch videos of Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitches. Now I'm Catholic no longer find Sam Harris or Hitchens as knowledgeable.

I'm still anti-fascist. I was when I was Catholic, too. But I never based my beliefs on other people. I left the church seeking self-reliance, not a new master.

There is a saying, if you are 20 and you aren’t a Democrat you don’t have a heart.

If you are 30 and aren’t a Republican/ capitalist you don’t have a brain.

I think everyone has a responsibility to search out the truth for themselves. Your experiences are pulling you a little closer to what I believe is the truth. Communism is appealing to the youth for a number of reasons which I could get into and would love to debate folks about but, I don’t want to hijack your post.

I think you are heading down the right path imho.

It’s a spectrum and as you get older I would estimate that you will become more conservative in your political leanings.

Today’s Republican Party is not a party of conservatives. They have been infiltrated by progressives. There are only a handful of true conservatives currently serving.

I am glad to hear you have seen past the pitfalls of communism.
