most of the time, I do that automatically. but then there are some moments where something overwhelms me and being so encaptured by it, I forget the need to look for a meaning.

Sometimes I observe without looking for a meaning, and sometimes without noticing, I find meaningful things.

I used to but I did not stop it because it was tedious but it probably got easier now, I can appreciate something without getting involved.

Nah, not in everything. Not everything is supposed to have a deeper meaning. In other situations a meaning won't add anything for the outcome. It won't give any further understanding of causes behind, and it won't make any feelings feel differently, it will only add on to how long it will occupy the mind in a fruitless way.
