A majority of my life is spent with me imagining scenarios in my head that won't ever happen, or re-living scenarios of my past.

This is me exactly. Imaging fantastical situations where I'm clever, witty, engaging, admired, respected, famous or other grand scenarios. It's harmless, and we do teach kids to have an imagination, so why not adults as well.
