For it must be the tenth time I have been asked 'why did you join this site?'

I find it strange, I question the questioner, who might be a little impertinent! Why shouldn't I join this site?

Is anyone saying you shouldn’t ? People do have different reasons for being here. Possibly you’re being asked because someone thinks you may have something in common with them ?
