I Am Sad

I'm listening to my "2013" Spotify playlist from freshman year of college. I found it and decided to listen. "My Fault" by Imagine Dragons hit me so effing hard because it took me back to when I was 18 and would hide in the small hidden nook of the 3rd floor in the library doing homework. I teared up. Back then I wondered if it was "my fault" that I left everyone and everything I knew behind.I felt so depressed because I was 6hrs away from home and I felt so alone. I was ashamed that I had to retake two classes and I didn't want anyone to know. Especially my roommates who were so nosey.

I'm 21 now, going to turn 22 in July. I graduate spring 2017 and it's been 3yrs since I last hid in that nook. All I can say is that no it wasn't "my fault". Nothing was ever "my fault". I had to leave everything behind to better myself and I have done just that. People come, then go and that's okay. The knowledge obtained will last a lifetime and will always be there to stay.

Edit: If anyone is interested in my playlist please feel free to hit me up. :)

Yeah lately I've been avoiding a ton of songs on my Pandora and Soundcloud playlists because they're from when I was still with my ex girlfriend and it's just way too sad. It's good music but I just don't want anything to do with it right now. Sometimes I hate how music can hold so many memories.

That's sad that we have to avoid good music just because it hurts to listen. :(

It really is sad. I wish I could separate the memories from the songs but it's so hard to do. I remember literally everything, it's just who I am. Definitely a blessing and a curse.

I totally know what you mean. I'm that way too. I literally had to delete a Spotify playlist of songs that I listened to with my old best friend cause it hurt too much
