I'm so sad :(

someone I apparently did a favor several years ago just reached out to thank me
terminally ill and now using the last time on earth expressing gratitude to the people that made a difference

I am so incredibly sad now over someone I barely remember

Sometimes we have no idea the impact our kindness can have in someone else's life. It is incredibly nice they were able to reach out and share with you, even if you don't really remember. So terribly sad for your friend's poor health through.

That's indeed sad... At least they are aware of it and getting a chance to do the things that they think matter.. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, she had no idea, and died not knowing of what..
