Are too many apps running? All the recent updates downloaded? Rebooted?

@TexChik I don’t think so. But why would it burp like that? My old one never did. I didn’t choose a burp sound on any sound setting or whatever.

@cherokeepatti If too many apps are running, it may prevent normal operation. If it has not been updated , the OS may not respond as it should with outdated software (even recently outdated software). And sometimes...you need to turn it off and let it set for a few minutes and turn it back on, allowing the drivers to reload correctly.
If that does not help, put your query into YouTube, and there is always someone with a video on how to fix it

@TexChik But why a Burp? Of all noises.

Restart it

@Prettybratbi1tch I did about an hour ago.

Give it a force restart, not a normal restart and see if that helps. Do you still hear it if you put the iPad on mute? If you don't, then it is likely a software glitch or something to do with the speaker, rather than a physical hardware defect.
I would also try upgrading to the latest iOS if you haven't done that already.
Even after trying all of that, since the iPad is brand new, I'd highly recommend taking it back to an Apple Store or a nearby authorized reseller. They will be able to help you out. If you don't have one nearby, just give Apple Support a call.

I saw a thing on YouTube about people having trouble with their I pads making a clicking or burping noise.
Check the speakers at the bottom to make sure no debris got in there.

@Adrift Oh, I was thinking that Siri was listening to me yesterday. I had Pad Thai and Massaman curry and I burped a few times. Thought it was mocking me or something.
