Does this happen to anyone else?
Everytime i come online, certain "friends" who are online suddenly go to offline mode?

I'm way too distracted by my own life to notice what status my friends show online. The bliss of mental struggles.
But I sometimes notice someone comes online and I'm online but not interested to chat, then I put "away" or some orange status button. It's nothing personal it's just me being too tired to socialise.

@NowOk All my friends knows that I'm very easily exhausted and socializing even just chatting, is sometimes too much for me. They know it's not about them.

@Queendragonfly this makes sense in your situation then.. not sure it's the same in mine. But it could be that.
I think a few of mine do what I do, never sign out.
