I Believe Everything Happens For a Reason

Today, my Mum was awesome. My Dad gave her up for some hours and she stayed and did my ironing*. Some people take that for granted, but I've done my own ironing (where I've perceived it to be necessary anyway) since I was 18. Today she spent 2.5hrs of her time to do it for me. And most of it wasn't even mine, it was my fiancee's. This gave me the time and energy to work on our house, ready for my OH to come home from South Africa tomorrow.

But, it turns out, it gave me even more than that. My sister called tonight, on her way home. She had an awful day today, and I was feeling low. We talked, she shared with me some amazing things. I gave her a small insight into my life that she didn't have yet. We came out a team. We are a formidable force, and resistance is futile. But seriously if we hadn't had that chance to talk, we would be a very different brother and sister - separate people, on separate nose-dives. I have Jumanji 2 to thank for this: awareness that we need each and every piece (team member) to complete the game. And we each only have one life - even though it may seem that we have 3 chances, it all adds up to the same one life. So, thank you Mum and thank you Dad. You guys gave us the chance to shine. It all happened for a reason. A very big reason, as it happens. 2018 will be a big year, live it up!!!

* There's a back story to why the ironing is there, but it's not going here.

I’m sorry, this is a great story but abbreviations drive me crazy—what’s an “OH” in this context ? 🤔
