I Would Go Back In Time If I Could

This morning as i was waking up, I was still in that dream state that makes everything seem real. I thought I heard my mother messing around in the kitchen having her coffee, maybe talking on the phone in a quiet way so as not to wake me up. This dream made me so comfortable and happy.

Then as all dreams do it came to an end. My heart is broken and I have a deep emptiness inside. My mother passed in October 2006.

I lost my the one man who taught me how to become a man almost 25yrs ago. He was my stepdad, I introduced him to my friends as my dad. He still visits my dreams, though those visits have decline much over the years, but I still cherish those dreams with all my heart. I had him in my life for such a short time, too brief... and here after all these years, come the tears.

When I first met him, I was like, "what could my mom possibly see"... But he had a way of growing on you. He was a man in a man's world.

Starshine, when those we love pass away, they leave bits of there presence with each of those they touched. So in a way, they will never leave us. Your heart is filled with your Mom, and she would like you to be happy. So get up tomorrow have a cup of coffee with her, and smile!

Hugs from another, broken heart club member.
@Evansville Thank you for this. As I was telling Peaches (below) her presence is always here with me. I love knowing that she will never leave me. If she does it only means she has other duties to comfort someone else.

My grief was so strong I got myself a therapy pet. He has worked wonders in my life to help me cope.

I am very sorry for your lost because he sounds like a Dad to be proud of.

I will have that coffee in the morning and telly best friend all about her.

Gentle hugs coming your way. Thank you once more.
