I did alright at college until November. I got into a scrap with my boyfriend. My roommate wanted me to date a friend of hers. I went out with him a couple of times before Christmas.
The fight was over my hair cut. I dated my boyfriend when home for Christmas and the night before I went back I told him we needed to see other people. I crushed him. By the first of May my grades slipped and I wrote my boyfriend back home and patched things up. I really did miss him. And in August I offered him my virginity. It was an experience. First for both of us. He told me how he felt physically and emotionally 59 years later. Two weeks later back at college he caught me at the other guys house. He didn't know that I liked hanging out with the other guys mom and sister. He was furious. I wish I would have known the next day what he told me 59 years later. Anyway he said he never wanted to see me again. In November on my birthday I got engaged to the other guy. He immediately pushed sex and in the next month I gave in a half a dozen times. And I flunked out of college. He came to meet my parents at Christmas. They hated him. He wanted to meet my boyfriend but I didn't think that was smart. In January he went to Vietnam. He called off the wedding which hadn't had a date set. And I started to think. Mid February I called my boyfriend's mother to get his phone number thinking he was in Texas. He was home. I asked her to have him call me. He didn't. I waited most of the day Sunday before calling again. About an hour later we were face to face. By June I had sent the other guys ring back and was wearing my boyfriend's ring.
The last weekend of basic. Just a few weeks before we married.
With the guy I should never have left. The most exciting day of our lives. College days were over. They were a big waste of time and money. We were finally together permanently.
