Do dreams have meaning?

I had a dream I was watching wrestling with one of my brothers and we saw one of the wrestlers shove a bunch of snakes into the others belly button and snakes began coming out of that wrestlers mouth. Could this dream mean anything?

Dream do not have "meanings".

Dreams sometimes refer to real people or places we know, or once knew, but all neurological studies suggest they are only fleeting by-products of the brain carrying out its own "housekeeping".

Why they can be surreal I have no idea, beyond suggesting while we are asleep and dreaming our imaginations are not fettered by other bits of our mind saying, "Don't be silly".
