A scify dream
In my dream last night I was with a team exploring a planet and it had a jungle of plants and amidst them was a heavy rope like thing with stripes on it sliding towards a large mound with an opening facing us.
The rope has some means of projecting images of loved ones and pets for us to follow. Inside the mound is a large lit cave with the floor sloping down towards a hole. The rope like thing spirals around the cave evenly spaced many times before going into the hole. It's also turning slowly. A female member of the team goes to inspect the hole and touches the rope as it's going down and long barbs shoot out of the thing into her arm. She tries to pull back but can't we try to cut the rope but it's like steel. The barbs have injected her with something that paralyzes her and we watch in helpless horror as she is pulled down into the hole. As it twists it grabs onto her with more barbs and slowly pulls her in. We back out to discover that the rope like thing goes into what must be an intestinal tract then comes out in a spring and loops back into the jungle. The entire thing is a living creature like a pitcher plant or Venus fly trap with only two moving parts.
