I’m haunted by a dream that I came home to discover I’d lost three years of my life

That everyone had moved on, had left me behind, but that I had no recollection or knowledge that any time had passed at all.

Whenever I see documentaries of mediaeval times it always strucks me how many civilizations existed before me and how many people lived a life I've never witnessed.
