Just an observation, holds no meaning upon anyone....

Some people are really, superbly good at first impressions. They just show up in a place and suddenly everyone loves them. I see that happen here, and because long term memory has an impairment here (one can change their username all they want), remember that, and the old adage does apply 'too good to be true'. I'm sorry if this sound cynical, I don't think it is, and it's not directed at anyone. It just means question how one shows up, makes friends with everyone and offers perfect words.

I’ve been around being real since EP and I’m still pretty much invisible. Some people are really good at being likable but I’m weary of “popularity “ as it normally comes with a big ego to worship 🤢

@RebelFox That also happens offline. I'm weary of them at times. My last partner was very charismatic, I learned a lot from her (it may not show), but some of that learning is also learning how people can charm. Which itself is beautiful and I wouldn't have spent 8 years with her without loving her. I also learned how people can manipulate and see it quicker.

I guess to a point that’s normal for everyone. It’s human nature to want people to like you and to show your best on first impressions.

@SW-User And some are better at that, they may not even realize it themselves.
Let others do their thing.
Focus on your smiles & laughter. Get them, give back when possible, which mostly is and log off to the daily grind.

Personalities of SW members are somewhat artificial in many cases, I think. Here you can be what you aren't in real life.

@helenS Very true.... so the one who just shows up *here* you must treat that way, but those also exist in real life. That kind of charisma, it's darn scary, you can almost be in awe, but you have to remember their sincerity is quite often missing? I really was more speaking about the celebration of....

@helenS You can also be what you are in real life, that real you that you are not comfortable showing to all one's real life connections.
