I Am a Deep Thinker

I see lots of close calls all the time, like my little sister almost bashing her head into the corner of the counter while horsing around, or dropping a knife and moving my foot just before it stabs me. Whenever I see one, I always think, "You know, in an alternate universe, my baby sister is crying right now and maybe bleeding," or "my foot has a knife in it and I need to call 911."

If alternate universes are real, then there are an infinite amount of possibilities out there that could've happened to you, but didn't. You could've made a choice that had a ripple effect that changed your life in a small way or a big way. You could've decided that you wanted to go to 7-Eleven instead of Safeway to get gas, but while you were there, there was a robbery and the robber shot you in the back and paralyzed you forever. It's totally in the realm of possibility, but if you went to Safeway instead, that wouldn't have happened

It stands to reason that anything you could think of did or will happen. I could be drinking vodka with my gay best friend after a hard night of underage clubbing and smoking right now, but I'm not. I don't even have a gay best friend, and I'm by no means a "bad boy" like that. I could've been though, and with infinite possibilities you can say just about the craziest thing ever and have it be true.

It's a crazy thought, but I always seem to come back to it at some point or another. It's cool to think I could be rich or famous for some reason in an alternate universe sometimes.
