Anybody qualified as a therapist in the UK?

I'm currently navigating the labyrinth of courses and diplomas to figure out what I'm doing to train. It's so confusing.

I'll have a bachelor's on psychology and counselling, thinking of doing a lvl 2 in counselling skills then maybe 3 and 4 if it includes placements?.

You won't get placements in level 3 and 4. That's usually level 6 (diploma) but you have to look for one yourself and it's a separate interview process.
If you've got a bachelors in psychology and counseling you can usually go straight to level 6 or 7 (given you have a 2:1) but that shit costs a lot. You'll have to pay for your own therapist, supervisor (if the placement doesn't provide one) insurance and and membership for a counselling directory if the course is accredited by them. I'm part of the BACP and that seems to the be most prevalent.

@NickiHijab yeah I don't know why I didn't just just go to medical school to be a doctor it's just as expensive 🤨 I actually feel like I'm too poor to be a therapist rn.

But hey, that's good to know that I won't be in my 40s living in a shack by the time I can qualify 🤣
