The wings of a butterfly
Do you know the butterfly effect and the phrase, "the flutter of a butterfly can bring about a storm in another country?” What can a butterfly affect with its wings? They are so delicate, fine, very thin and fragile. I think of this phrase and I ask myself:
Is a thought not sometimes just like the flutter of a butterfly, so fine, fragile, delicate and yet it can move so much in my life - for good or for evil? Whether the flutter of a butterfly can trigger a storm – I do not know that, maybe that happens. But I am convinced that good, true and useful thoughts can lead to many blessings and to a fulfilled life. Sometimes a thought helps a lot, when it shows the direction in a situation or how to deal with an experience. A good thought sheds a certain light on it - so that I can face life and move on, so that I'm able to cope with life. Sometimes it is just this very “thin, delicate” thought which makes the difference between despair and hope, between reconciliation and hatred.
And how much do we owe to others who gave us good thoughts, who may have paid a price for a life-serving thought, who have experienced an affliction, who suffered and learned something so that we do not have to suffer? How many good thoughts are really our own? How many thoughts are wonderful gifts from others? We accepted them and now they are interwoven with our own lives. We are our thoughts. And we do not tire to question thoughts, to discard wrong and damaging thoughts, to embrace thoughts which truly help on the long run. I do find myself admiring people who have good thoughts and who live those thoughts, like the truth: people are more important than things. I heard that from Ruth Hunt, an older very rich lady in Dallas, Tx. I think she was wise.
SW is to a large extent about the effect the flapping of a butterflies wing has. How do I think about my experience, how do I react, how can I experience help. Advice is sharing thoughts and sharing thoughts can have a tremendous effect.
Here is a short sample of good thoughts from my life:

5 The TV has a button to turn it off
