Stop Trying to Be Understood — Carl Jung

[media=https://youtu.be/tLBSj4ZNt0g]

New in Learning Time --- all such videos like this, and there are plenty are for me at least curiosity fodder, to agree with everything it says is erroneous, it's only meant to open up an ongoingness. To think you already know what you need to, is imo refusing to think. To think is to keep going, and as I watch this I may add some further thoughts designating where, how or why I can only accept it partially, and from hearing the first few seconds there's much here I would agree with, how we are in reality and how we're perceived, is surely 2 very different things. To go deeper and further, means not seeing a sudden realization as the end result, it's a portal to a realm of exploration. Our assumptions will be challenged, hence why many will not want to, and for this to happen one needs to want to, and coercion this is not, this is as is everything I post an option, your time is valuable, it ought to, but on SW many must be bored, boredom would be extinct, if we weren't hesitant to take the plunge in whatever topic that seemingly nags at us from behind our thoughts, could be anything, I just share what I simultaneously am interested in and think could possibly be of assistance to others. I feel I must try to be understood, so the title after all is like a giveaway that partiality is a given btw.

at 59 seconds the lady on the couch is from Eric Rohmer's La collectioneuse!!

This is alarmist drivel I must say, but I might be jumping to conclusions.

If your explanations reveal some of Jung's insights, would not those efforts open some people's eyes to how things work? Would that not be a reason to try to be understood? To expect 100% compliance would be not the point, the smallest change for the better would grow to something bigger, think big picture, not just of yourselves.

Authenticity disrupts social illusions, that's a good one!! Imagine if society didn't need illusions!!

To be understood shouldn't be the aim of one's actions, just be yourself the common advice takes care of that, but to treat others with respect, if that is lost, you're just a maniac of no use to anyone including your own point of view you're harming by insisting on it with a life that contradicts it violently.

The erroneous part is the trying part, trying here is a calling card of the manipulator, just be yourself again smashes that to smithereens, but do we know really who we are, or has the shadow and all those repressed stuff clouding your self image?

This video however is flawed because of it's persistence to coming to conclusions, and assumptions, that word it in such dire ways. It's really just explaining normal stuff, that most are unaware of, even unaware that it matters, they might think it's too touchy feely and isn't therefore addressing anything they're facing.

I suggest however to use the pick and choose method, what fits in your own developing philosophy? What doesn't fit, and this isn't about being liked or not, but about how a Grand Perspective that has it all fitted together could be a way one and all goes about things, in a world we couldn't realistically expect. Hope for tomorrow, sounds pathetic, eh? But it's to me a way to at least attempt to envision a better world that the overall general intelligence of it's inhabitants increases. There is actually no future without that imo.

Silence exposes unresolved truth, another goodie!!

Good stuff. What a waste to try so hard to be understood though. Most people don't care, they are already trying too hard for themselves to be understood. In some situations, maybe yes we could try. But most simply can not see the bigger picture.

Time is too precious to spend on drivel that goes nowhere. Or on analyzed thoughts that are or should be obvious. To me anyway. And learning is pointless if we don't put it into action.

To think you already know what you need to, is imo refusing to think.

Authenticity disrupts social illusions,

Indeed. :-)

@Magenta Thanks for your reply ☺ I think better of the video after than when I called it drivel and gets the thoughts going I’m using sw as like a record of this taking place and also for future reference 👍
