Iv wondered that. Its actually a town in italy. Probably where it originated.

I think i figured out it was mispronounced by a kid in a comercial when it was first advertised in north ameica and the name stuck cause it was easy to say.

I think Frank Zappa pronounced it like Bu log nuh

I pronounce it as bo-lo-nya 🤣

But only because I know what the GNA sounds like in Italian

@Younameit Oh yeah!! I'm glad I asked this, it's bothered me for ages and i'm finally getting some closure now!!
because english is a funny language lol
Brits and Yanks aren't well-known for respecting / preserving the original pronunciaiton of words / proper names, even though it would only take a bare minimum of effort to do so

Every Brit and Yank was born as a blank slate, and had to be educated on a multitude of other things, but this stuff was just a bridge too far

@BooksRMe is Illuminati the plural of the singular Illuminato?

@SnickersDOM I don't trust myself with addressing that head on, and surely not in the open where they'll be scrutinizing what I say!!
