Iv wondered that. Its actually a town in italy. Probably where it originated.
I think i figured out it was mispronounced by a kid in a comercial when it was first advertised in north ameica and the name stuck cause it was easy to say.

Brits and Yanks aren't well-known for respecting / preserving the original pronunciaiton of words / proper names, even though it would only take a bare minimum of effort to do so
Every Brit and Yank was born as a blank slate, and had to be educated on a multitude of other things, but this stuff was just a bridge too far
