Do we really change, or do we just get better at hiding who we are?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. People say time changes you, but I feel like the core of who I am is still the same. I’ve just learned which parts to show to whom. Do you think people genuinely change over time, or do we just adapt to different situations? Curious to hear your perspectives.

No one undergoes a complete change of personality, i think. New Circumstances or their response to those new circumstances can modify the way they present to the world, but are they fundamentally different? I think not.

@Maturebate that's kinda where i was leaning when i made the post. but then i started wondering if maybe the way you present to the world is what actually matters to everyone else. like if no one can see the difference does it even count as change
