At the core of it all is that real solutions take more thought and work than most will commit.

It is so much easier to just buy into simplified narratives and chant their slogans.

"Eat the rich!"

"Make america great again!"

Shit is not that simple.

If modern society is to meaningfully improve it will take people being willing to sit down and do serious sociological calculus.

Tradeoff analysis.

Incentive mapping.

Long-term thinking.

Institutional design.

Second- and third-order effects.


And that is just not something the vast majority of people will do.
