A thought i've had recently about the lyrics of Tori Amos
Those lyrics to me seem very cryptic, and hold hidden meanings, and by admitting I can't explain a song like Cornflake Girl, (something a commenter on YT asked me), is admitting that I don't know those hidden meanings.
It could therefore be that if the hidden meanings aren't known to others, I wouldn't know because I don't even know if others don't know also or if they're just holding back visible derisory laughter at my doltishness in this matter.
There's of course some things that can get through my thick head, the song Winter is fairly explanatory, and moving!! Other songs are dark and expressing a very sultry sort of smartness, and a critical POV on religion, and the travelling the country during the war on terror times in Scarlet's Walk, which sounds so smooth and seamless, a soothing choir like backgrounds. But the lyrics, perhaps they're about such personal experiences that to keep it hidden can be for protecting others.
