Well I just was on the phone with 3 other people
2 ladies and my brother, I couldn't follow along that well, so many technicalities, but basically dad will be placed on a waiting list when me and brother come up with places we'd want dad to go to, but no guarantee on those places being picked, his stay at the hospital once on the waiting list will cost 70 dollars a day and the care facility will cost 2,400 a month.
More waiting, perhaps weeks.
The whole thing about talking about these things to dad is tricky too, but there is a firm decision that he cannot be making his own decisions on matters.
I write this more than anything so that I remember some of the basic things I need to keep in mind, I appreciate those here who care.
My brother is doing most of the heavy lifting so to speak in this matter, he'll talk further with me to crystallize what I need to know and do.
My concern is the cost of the care facility, will his pension and all his other income cover that?
I was putting 1,000 a month for Room and Board, and it is my understanding that once he's taken care of, all of his income will be used for that, and the 1,000 I put to R&B will be for the bills here, but 2,400 seems high and i'm wondering if I need to be putting some funds towards that on top of all the bills etc.
We'll see, thank god for my brother, I cannot overstate my need for a brother like I have.
These highly technical day to day stuff is in many regards too much for me, more to my taste is existentialism, and Histories of empires, brain diseases and whatnot.
It is now 11 hours and 20 minutes into the last day of the year, my duty is done for the day, and will get back to my tenuous sense of normal, in the classroom, with fruit flies obscuring my plain of vision.
Bro said I shouldn't worry about the costs, and mentioned how it would be good if I paid the bills without his assistance, he is older than me and is likely going to "meet his maker" before I do, so if I can manage to pay the bills on my own, that would be a huge step.
Care facility places, 2 such places are in our little town here, we're asked to choose 3, so I would pick the 2 here and 1 in the city somewhere.
