Perhaps this is what's going on within my head
That i've lost much of my faith in humanity, and i'm essentially adrift in the cosmos, to use a phrase from Godard's Weekend. And also this includes films. Now I declare that with The Criterion Channel, and opportunistically choosing the right stuff at the right time, my faith will be restored in cinema, and slow cinema will be the vessel through which this faith will arrive by.
To see authenticity on display, seeing it as honest, to desire to see everyday kinds of people, in usually humdrum situations, and stitched together with calm assurance. This is what i'm glimpsing a little with Kaili Blues a 2015 Chinese film.
To smooth away any misunderstanding
There is always a few people I admire a lot, a while ago I singled out 3 here, and those 3 remain.
But faith in, means the big picture
There needs to be not a cessation of learning what's going on in the world, but to see that some people aren't fooled by what's going on, that kind of thing, like slow cinema is a vessel that faith in can travel by.
