I get it if it was just two of you, and one woman got on and took it over the limit, but not 6? Why should anyone be embarrassed about it? Even the last woman of the 6, it wasn't her weight alone. It could have been a child that got on and tipped it over the limit.

Your reaction to that happening is really thoughtful and nice to read, it's like one of those needed little reminders that kind people really still exist.

I've never heard that from an elevator before either

@Notsimilarreally Thank you. I realize that the elevator is just doing its job, but that can't be easy to hear.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@uncalled4 wait, isn't the typical max capacity over 2000 lbs?

Yeah, surely if they're on the larger size that could probably be a bit triggering to hear.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Notsimilarreally i didn't see a weight listed.
It's not just about the women, though... that would have happened no matter what was placed in the elevator once its weight limit was exceeded.

It could've been rugby players, weight lifting equipment or anything else you can think of - it's just unfortunate that it happened to be a group of women in this case.

True. But ignoring the issue (stress on elevator) is not an option

@SW-User indeed. We're into a safety issue then.
