It's dawning on me that YA material is more mature than things designed for grown ups
This is a fascinating revelation for me, and i should have understood this when i went through my anime phase, it's incredible, Breadwinner is revealing it to me, such harsh realities, it makes me think of the name of a Vittorio de Sica film The Children Are Watching Us, think of that for a moment, when we're acting all immature, the young people around us are seeing that, and are developing a more authentic maturity.
