How often do you experience suicidal thoughts?

I once found myself - without any real cause - in the deepest of despairs. It was indescribably bleak, I’d never felt it before or since. It gave me first hand insight into the mindsets of two friends who have killed themselces. There is no logic or hope, just pure overwhelming hopelessness beyond reason.
