The Darkest Night
Darkest is the Night
when the moon isn’t there
Phased out
Lost in the air
The moon may not be shining
But it doesn’t mean it’s dying
It’s just low-lying
Soon to reset
it’s terrifying
How hard it gets
Trying to stop TRYING
Trying to stop CRYING
Oversharing and Overcaring
It’s just Overbearing
and a little scary
Trying to imagine light you can’t see
Facing fears you can’t flee
Thoughts waxing and waning
Fading in and out
But the moon isn’t dead
It’s soon to reset
As a dark night ends a bright light begins
She’ll find her way
somehow, someday
She’ll be herself
Once she’s okay
when the moon isn’t there
Phased out
Lost in the air
The moon may not be shining
But it doesn’t mean it’s dying
It’s just low-lying
Soon to reset
it’s terrifying
How hard it gets
Trying to stop TRYING
Trying to stop CRYING
Oversharing and Overcaring
It’s just Overbearing
and a little scary
Trying to imagine light you can’t see
Facing fears you can’t flee
Thoughts waxing and waning
Fading in and out
But the moon isn’t dead
It’s soon to reset
As a dark night ends a bright light begins
She’ll find her way
somehow, someday
She’ll be herself
Once she’s okay
