Do you let your thoughts lead?

A kind of daydreaming where you eventually fall into your own sort of depression.

The group that I volunteered at I found that many depressed or generally sad people were actually bored in life. They only worked. Came home and did nothing much else.

A common thing most guys mentioned is they daydreamed a lot. They didn’t realize that they had too much time on their hands so it was spent remembering past events or daydreaming.

The ones that turned their lives around were the ones that got involved in sports or something to occupy their minds.

A sense of reason or belonging. A sort of purpose. They would come round and share stories of their successes and progress with others who struggled.

Random memory I wanted to vomit

I pursue a variety of interests but it doesn't stop me from feeling very alone. Those interests and hobbies simply occupy my hands and my mind, not my heart.
I wish everyone had access to their own personal time to pursue something that gives them joy. Because yeah, the rut of work, parenting, sleep, repeat is not living.
@BrokenAbyss I get that big time. I hope something comes around for you. 🙏
@Teggy Thank you. Indeed I do. Working diligently towards it now, but it’s just me so it’s rough 😆
Uh.. i guess they are depressed because they aren't living their life.. they are living in the ghost part of their minds.. and not appreciating their surroundings or making an effort just going through the motions of their existence in a rut

I do but not because I have too much time, it's because of my cptsd and dissociation.
But also when I was a kid I would daydream a lot, even at school^^

We all need to feel a sense of real purpose
