Interesting but let's leave Bigfoot alone, they just want to live in peace.

This could be where the DOJ is hiding the documents that would actually prove Trump's collusion with Russia was a hoax.

@MistyCee That's plausible actually.

@MistyCee first they need to prove it was fact . I can’t believe you libs are still trying to beat that dead horse . Only a paid lib blogger would be spewing that BS again . Are you guys really that desperate? 😂😂😂That was rhetorical … even you can’t deny the shit show . I also notice you never talk about it either … you only appear to cast blame but always come up short with any factual proof . 🙄
@TexChik Read my post again, hon.

Granted, I was being sarcastic, but what I was suggesting was that there might be docs that would prove Trump didn't collude with Russia that might be squirreled away to keep some [un]scrupulous person from giving them to Trump in exchange for whatever he might have to offer in terms of materials he managed to purloin despite the deep state working to handcuff him from stopping their secret agenda.

I'll give you that you're frustration with me the cabal of people who think may be justified, but this response makes it look like what I'm saying went right over your head to me.

Sure, I'm making fun of Trump's wild claims, but I'm not "beating the dead horse" of Trump collusion as much as poking fun at the supposed efforts of Trump to uncover documents that would actually "exxonerate" him in exchange for documents he absconded with.

@MistyCee Conservatives don't understand humor, this has been scientifically studied even, it's just a no-go. Appreciate the effort though.
@SatanBurger Honestly, I think you're overgeneralizing here about conservatives not appreciating humor. I don't know what studies you're looking at or or how they might define "conservatives," but I don't think @TexChik is incapable of appreciating humor in general.

@MistyCee There was a whole special on it, they did an experiment over some satire site in other studies and they found that if the site didn't label it as satire but it was purposely overly exaggerated, conservatives took it as serious and even rehashed it like it was serious. They can't tell satire, which explains QAnon and the like, a big sub set of the far right.

Even on here, most of the conservative's "news" they share are someone's satire that you can plainly see was satire at some point but they really do think it's serious which shows they don't understand the nuance of humor.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MistyCee I also want it to be clear that I'm not saying they're stupid because that's an entirely different story, it's just that they don't understand satire in particular. There's some segments Fox News has reported as more of a serious matter than what it was and if you look at actual content, you can tell it's satire-ish or not as serious.. distorted quite a bit but it's ran as if it's more serious than what it is. I just find that it's a common theme, that's all.
@SatanBurger With all due respect, the "Conservatives" of 2009 are likely different from those of 2022, the latter of whom have dealt with Trump's "jokes", gets, and truthful hyperbole as well as more than a decade's worth of Hannity, Carlson and Ingraham, all of whom push the limit between satire and journalism.

I'd like to think that the ability to appreciate humor is more universal at least, even if it's not all humor, and some people are more sensitive to certain kinds.

"Springtime for Hitler," as well as a lot of Mel Brooks' stuff comes to mind, because its offensive as hell, if you don't see the comedy, and yet, the fart jokes are mixed in well enough with the racist stuff too blend well.
@SatanBurger The thing is, I don't think it's as simple as Conservatives dont appreciate satire at all.

Skipping whatever the F a conservative is these days, between Fox, Trump and folks like Yiannopolis claiming that label, I'm remember being introduced to the Harvard Lampoon and "Bored of the Rings" by kids that I thought (and still think) of a pretty conservative.

Was Jonathan Swift a liberal, or a conservative?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MistyCee I'm not saying they don't appreciate satire, I'm saying they often just don't seem to get satire which is different.
@SatanBurger Or satire that challenges them?

The liberal vs conservative divide doesn't seem to be so clear to me here.

All too often, I hear "conservatives" claiming that they weren't serious and were joking about stuff when liberals don't ,"get the joke."

Honestly, long before I focused on politics, I thought about laughing at slapstick, trainwrecks, and the like, and I think that the whole comedy/tragedy thing is more basic then liberal,/conservative differences today.
