Prelude to a Review Series
I often am dazzled by people's opinions of things, and how varied conclusions are. It's the same and less interesting in politics, but it's like the very fabric of how a human functions. One comes across something and has a sharp point of view they will then proceed to expound.
A well thought out opinion tends to cover more ground than a simplistic statement of opinion however, you get the sense that the reviewer understands a work, or at least can describe what it's like, besides merely saying whether they liked it or not.
For the most part i've never before really tried to do in depth reviews before, and part of the inner struggle is perhaps a stage in becoming an actual reviewer, seeing other sides of an argument. A pursuer of such aims doesn't stop at that hurdle, but injects what is learned into the final product.
There is a grade for everything, including how one says something, by choosing to say anything, one is subjecting oneself to a sort of trial, no matter how insignificant it may seem in the larger picture.
If i choose to do reviews, i want to keep all this in mind, applying them to not just any film, but those which i honestly think are worth other people's time. Case by case will vary in the applicability of that, for a well trodden cinematic path has already enough voices in their favor.
Time to gestate now, using the draft option, perhaps toiling on many over time, and trying to continually edit them before posting, to give it the thought i believe they deserve what i choose to talk about.
