A GN message from the village of morons
This is a little in joke, only those who know where i live would get it, and probably think i need to grow up.
So i feel it is time to go to sleep pretty soon, it's a thing i guess to post before that, not just a goodnight statement, but a whole drawn out continuation of the drawling interjections previously were. It's all little sections in a big long book.
Amazon lied, there was no Vollmann delivered today!!!
After last post i looked at Letterboxd reviews on Gerry, and decided to write my own. The consensus is that a lot find it boring, others pretentious, and some still who see it as transcendent and sublime. That was how it was for me but only for the first viewing.
These 2 guys get lost in the desert, the experience one has at first is important, for me i was in a mental state in 2004 where there was a disconnect with the world. This film was like getting clean, seeing such a tragedy play out in such a mindscape when all that was seen beforehand was popcorn escapism was BEYOND refreshing. Hooked on a feeling this is, just remembering films, i might make this part of my routine these days, remember fondly certain films and write about them, writing about one's experiences and learnings is essential to actually learning them, you internalize and make it a more real part of yourself. So often things just happen and you let it escape you, and then it's almost like it never happened were it not for memory.
Have a good one folks, see you in 19 hours ......:)
