Tomorrow is me dad's birthday, we used to always go out to eat with our British friend to celebrate, but she's not only experiencing ill health, but her family members have been having alot of babies.
Last night i thought i would maybe get the amount a possible refund was for, but i already did that with all the Ferrantes, so it is the grown up thing to not get anymore books till after the debt is covered.
The Vollmann refund is The Rifles, from the Seven Dreams series, overpriced for sure but some of his works are just like that. The first 2 of his i see myself finishing is The Atlas and Poor People. There's 3 main kinds of writing he does as far as i can comprehend now, journalism, historical fiction, and adult fiction. There's i think some volumes of his photography that aren't affordable at all for a Canadian. He's a very well read man, which is one of the main selling features for me for him, and the wonderful videos of Chris Via (aka Leaf By Leaf) who spreads the Vollmann gospel so well, maybe unbeknownst to me i've spread it here as well.
Things are winding down, if you can believe it. Jung and Reich remain to be gotten, and more of the ancients, and some fine authors i want to collect like Murakami and DeLillo, and anyone else that arises into my awareness with a golden tinge around it. An new epoch is partially happening these days for me as a reader, it takes awhile to adjust, say adios to the old way, and alrighty then to the new.
The new is becoming a fish or sea creature in the ocean of literature, at present i am in a cruiser, and go for a swim daily, the scientists in this illustrative parallel land say that 6 to 12 months of constant exposure to the water transforms one's physiology into that of a sea creature.
That's enough for now, have a lovely day/night y'all 😌
