The serious and the frivolous

These 2 polarities are my focus here, and to speak of them may hopefully clarify what sort of person i am.

SW is mostly a place for fun, fun here a variant of frivolous, we may go after this for our offline life prohibits it, which is so understandable, for me however, i get goofy when i'm not here, being goofy online can be tricky, you never know when you'll be taken literally and then you just lost a potential person to learn and be benefitted from.

I find a constant aim towards serious fits me perfectly because

a) it centers me as i am so silly otherwise

b) when i make a serious or heartfelt point made clear, or get it across, it's i think akin to what it must be for a mother holding their baby, something so precious and boundlessly bursting with joy and meaning. I want to have those feelings for my interests - music, books and films. These are things you could go so deeply into and never quite catch the essence of. The essence if captured would merely produce many other aspects to marvel at.

To wed the serious and the silly is possible i think also, my favorite booktuber who teaches deep reading of the classics mentioned in his latest video how there is a river of pain in Joyce's Ullyses, that comedy has it's source in tragedy, a common felt sadness we understand, and how we can laugh because what else can we do?

Laughter was seen as very similar to crying also by sundry luminaries, and a real example is the great and late Robin Williams, like very few were as funny as he was, but oh did he suffer also from depression.

The lower one can go, the higher they can also go. Our roots are a mirror of our potential and reach.
