Finishing touches on my splurge day

I knew i needed Homer, the basic beginning of western literature, so instead of getting an economical edition of The Odyssey and The Illiad, i googled best translation of Homer and the name Richmond Lattimore sprung up to greet my eyes, so i went ahead with that, he also did some of the Greek playwrights too like Sophocles and Aeschylus, but not being a Play reader normally, i need them not at this time, and they won't be nagging me in the mind.

And another Holderlin work, the novel Hyperion.

Ahhh, what bliss, in the living room with the fan on, reading an intoxicating brew of fine literature, culminating in a rapturous few long paragraphs of Proust while waiting for a couple burgers to be brought back, fresh strong coffee, ice water, on the recliner, now back to where i smoke with sublime Max Richter, and life is good, it could not be better, and i wish all good people here to be as content as i am this wonderful day that Jeff Bezos hath made ......:)
