On the film side
It's not easy for me but i shall try to "juggle" the 2 main interests books and films, in that i'll be actively into them both daily.
Here i want to shine a light on a couple things that could be next, during this time of being in debt i am gonna allow myself no more than $100 on these things per month, sounds fair right? Monthly debt payments are at $900, so i'm getting there.
First off is a release from a few years ago, before i got a Blu-ray player this release depressed me, i wanted Decasia so much, and then it was there in a format i didn't have, this also has a bunch of Bill's other films. If you're wondering what the deal is with him, he used film deterioration of old neglected films as an art, the found footage kind of thing with old decayed film prints and Decasia is his most famous work.
And an upcoming release by Eureka, their latest addition of the Buster Keaton canon, his first feature film, i have all the other Eureka Keatons so this is a no brainer.
sidenote - Notes on an Execution is excellent - whenever someone says to say if something is good, my mind can't compute, what i like and what other people would like is something i can't say, but objectively this book is renowned for a good reason, it may be too dark for some, and raises questions about the death penalty. I'm just beginning it, but have heard a little about it, not enough to spoil, and it's beautifully written. Makes me ashamed for going on and on about high brow literature here the other day, wtf do i know, eh?
