"today's music sucks"

I hear a lot.

I'd say yes and no. Hasn't it always? I'll bet you that in the 90s people reminisced about the sixties and how much better it was.

Thanks to the internet, we have access to it all. This is a great time for music.

there has always been bad music. it just wasn't as accessible to the general public because people couldn't record and mix it themselves and post it online for millions of people to see>.>

@SW-User true. There's also just generally more of every thing on the internet. Good or bad

I wouldn't say music now sucks but you definitely have to look hard to find decent songs. Most of the good artists are ones that people have never heard of.

Sometimes you have to widen the spectrum of music you listen to. I'm very varied...I do have favourite artists but I just love anything that sounds interesting and really resonates with me or has some kind of emotional impact. I listen to music in different languages so that variation is good too

I think ppl refer to the mainstream chart toppers when they say that bc they use the same four chords to stay relevant, and ofc the talented artists end up being considered underground

It's definitely harder to find the good stuff because there is so much out there, but it's there.

Then again, it's hard to argue when a song from 1985 is #1 all around the world.

There has always been terrible music.

@uncalled4 Kate Bush resurgence

@Slade Apparently, she is making 250,000 pounds a week because she wrote it, produced it, is the artist, owns the publishing and the licensing.
