A thought that is always there came around again
"Stranger things" tv show triggereddddd.
Half laughing but also....
I have a burn on my left wrist. The context is...
My dad died April 8th, 2000.
Fast forward to December. I remember because of the Christmas lights in the house (The main thing of stranger things 1).
No one was home.
I wanted pancakes.
So, I made them.
At one point the pan got so hot it started smoking really bad.
I ran to the back door with the pan and with my left hand I held the door open and with my right hand I was waving the hot pan up and down (vertically).
I must have misjudged the distance between my hands and all of a sudden the hot pan in my right hand collided with my left wrist that was holding the door open.
When stuff like that happens as a kid you really don't know the severity.
It hurt, but I had no one to tell. With a small circle burn, what could be done anyway? Originally it looked like a perfect circle of cooked chicken.
Over time there was a scab, and being me well....I picked it.
lots.
I am 34 now.
It is still there.
I almost like it because it reminds me of my dad in a weird way.
Can you even see it?
Edit: I was 12
