What I learned today...

apparently group loyalty is already a trait predisposed in us due to evolution but installing programs to further boost patriotism and nationalism makes it dangerously unsafe to an already loyal populace. This means that, that loyalty turns into hostility and violence. Essentially we've dug ourselves into a self fulfilling prophecy.

Basically humans are drug addicts and what happens when give drug addicts more drugs and then dissent comes in and says "I don't think this is healthy" what does the drug addict do? We're all drug addicts 🤣

It's a really good article. I think it only has the wrong headline.

Instilling patriotism in people is perfectly rational if you want people divided an loyal to the state. The article itself says this and say why. It's basically media manipulated out hunter-gatherer herd mentality in order to get people to fight against their own interests.

@Burnley123 Well it's rational if that's your end goal which it is so in that sense but it's not rational because you're already loyal anyways so I think this is just like giving crack users more crack I think lol and then saying go to town. But then again we're talking about people whose ultimate end goal isn't peace but rooting out naysayers and critics.
