Watched an episode of Bob's Burger today (spoiler ahead). Bob is going to a Burger Convention and is happy and excited to finally meet face-to-face the other members of the Burger Forum, ("my friends"). Yet, when he gets to the convention he finds out that every one hates him, because in his posts he comes across as arrogant and know-it-all (he also types in all caps and doesn't know how to use emoticons or smileys...). Got me thinking... Not that I think I'm popular (or want to be such thing), as I prefer to keep to myself, but it's interesting how the way we think we come across can be vastly different from how people actually perceive us... I can only wonder how many people have blocked me and I never knew... Oh well... 🤷♂️🤨
Well, that's certainly one way to look at things. The idea of popularity is boring honestly, but we are social beings and it's a product of that we see those things.
I don't know how you see yourself, but from here, I see someone just laying down thoughts who appears decent
I only wonder about this because I'm not very good at deciding which emoji's are appropriate to use in a given moment. I just opt not to use them most of the time.
@Jessmari True, sometimes the existing emojis don't quite convey what we want to express and can come out misunderstood... The perils of written communication... 😳
