I Like To Think Deep Thoughts

Beauty. Too fat. Too skinny. Gorgeous. Ugly. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” points to the subjectivity of the ideal this word attempts to define. Beauty is an illusion. Everything is beautiful unless you randomly want to change it to fit YOU, and that is clearly subjective. Everything and everyone is what they are objectively. Is a circle beautiful and a triangle ugly? No, they are different shapes. Okay what if I take a poll and 50 people say circles are beautiful and 80 say triangles are ugly, does that make it so? What if I go to every T.V., radio, and newspaper and say, “Circles are beautiful, triangles are ugly. Circles are beautiful, triangles are ugly!”, does that make it so?
No.
Preference is not the intrinsic objective value in people, places, things, and ideas being simply DIFFERENT, not objectively better or worse except in subjective preference.
What if the movies, soap operas, shows, and Disney movies showed us a different image of “beauty” through the protagonist of such films, would that change our perception?
History says yes.
The definition of beauty consistently changes over time.
Then eventually functionality takes over beauty and even the “beautiful” according to the masses can be criticized based on functionality- how well one meets the desires of others.
Hence the illusion.
Different rocks.
Different colors.
Different shapes.
Nothing is to be monopolized, because if all shapes were circles, and everything purple, and everyone looked the same monotony, boredom, and routine wouldn’t allow for our existence.
Question everything, and then you won’t be emotionally hurt by tricks people try to play through the means of psychological manipulation.
