I Am Not A Good Writer Still I Like To Write My Thoughts

I have been going through a lot lately. I wish I was somehow able to covey what I feel into words. It would have helped somehow. I want to be ablt to express myself more through writing.

There are honestly only a few pieces of advice I can give for writing. First, check out my Writer's Manifesto:

https://similarworlds.com/4589287-I-Love-to-Write/572323-My-Writers-Manifesto-Whether-its-exploring-experie

It covers some things most folks forget-- primarily that we have 5 senses. The more we engage our readers imaginations, the more they come under our spell.

Second piece of advice: You can only write what you know, convincingly. So, if you've never done anything, or gone anywhere, I would avoid trying to write a medical thriller that spans continents. You won't fool anyone. In counterpoint, however, I recommend advice from one of the most prolific authors of the 20th century:

Oh, and just to give Lester Dent a little more weight, why not read up on him, and discover how HE solved writing issues (most importantly, note his research methods, because they sound identical to some silly writer named Michael Crichton-- you know, JURASSIC PARK, WESTWORLD, etc, etc. I name those two because... yeah. Crichton was an emergency room physician!).

Specifically, this passage:
In addition to being a wide-ranging reader, Dent also took courses in technology and the trades. He earned both his amateur radio and pilot license, passed both the electricians' and plumbers' trade exams, and was an avid mountain climber. His usual method was to learn a subject thoroughly, then move on to another.
Oh, once you start typing away...? Do yourself a favor. READ IT ALOUD. It will help you establish a meter and rhythm to your work, which establishes your voice as a writer. It will also let you realize where sentence structure breaks down and becomes difficult to follow. Plus, there's the added bonus of getting an idea of how the pacing REALLY is in the story.

*shrugs* It's all about the pleasurable learning experiences with me. Also, I'm secretly the Djinn of the Lamp... so, wording and all that.
