Anti therapy philosophy.

Just remember - homosapiens are hard wired to remember the bad stuff. (Its primeval survial instinct stuffs).

The 'good' stuff we forget easily, as it was never threatening in the first place.

It fades too easily

This is why we end up focusing on the shitty things of the past.

But it really wasnt all shit -

- There were beautiful moments,
- snippets of kindness,
- connection,
- love - even though it may have come from a bad place....or person.

... And those people were prolly damamged by their own "memories of scary hurtful moments" themselves.

-×- BREAK THE CHAIN -x-

- stop holding onto that crap.
- Make new, more beautiful crap
- if not .....sit back and try and see some beauty in the crap around you - focus on that.

If you search for misery - you'll find it.

Guaranteed

Search for something better 💜💚

There is s a point to talk therapy - but eventually you are just reviving and re-living the bad over and over and over again
- cementing it into your brain.

Which makes a therapist very rich.

@KiwiBird i totally agree 💯

I once had a therapist want to do regression therapy on me.
I asked, " but if my brain blocked something out - surely it did it for a reason right?"

She had no arguable reply.

Therapy should be about moving forward. Not backward.

@OogieBoogie Yes....and the best recovery programs do that. Learn from the past sure but always move Forward.
