the process continues

Katie drove me to PT yesterday. the same stretching, walking more climbing some stairs. on the way home had her stop in the high school parking lot. first time in over 3 months I got behind the wheel. the gas pedal wasn't too bad but had trouble with the brake, needed the help of the parking brake to stop, guess I'm still not ready to hit the road but not ready to quit trying. HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL

Reading your previous post from July 24th about what normal activities putting the amount of stress on your hips, why are you rushing it and getting behind the wheel of a car? Even in a parking lot, pressing on the brake pedal or gas pedal to hard can screw up the healing of your hips. Did PT or the doctor give permission for this activity? I wouldn't risk it if I was you, as much as I may want the independence, it's not worth the setback if something is damaged! Not worth pushing your luck and ending up in a wheelchair for the few moments of independence... Your choice ...

@Confined you were very blessed!
@Kstrong have to test during the rehab process. let's me know what I'm capable of doing and what needs more time

@saragoodtimes checking progress, range of motion, strength, develop goals, steps to reach that. A "normal" time frame for that to be reached, readjust if needed... Pay attention, don't rush the healing process. They've dealt with this stuff daily, have trained in the field and know about what they're doing. As much as you want to rush it, you can't rush healing.... Your goal is for the rest of your life ...

Stole my granddaughters pillow she's 7 months and doesn't use it. It's extra padding for my shoulder so i can wear seat belt

@saragoodtimes I understand more than you know, but your healing properly is most important as you don't want to aggravate for the rest of your lifetime

@saragoodtimes The harder you work, the sooner you get better. I walked and exercised at home all day.
It will come .. good to hear the steady progress continues ♥
