Anyone else seek Counselor, therapy or psychiatrist?

I see my once a fortnight. Started this year and so far, very helpful and insightful esp in my own mentality health.

Counselor guide u so u have to find your own way into things. Therapy guide and TELL YOU what to try and do this is the only difference. For everything else it is the same. Privacy, confidentiality and most importantly, speaking and letting go off the past trying to become the new you. I am trying to become a beta dad n husband.

So, me n my counselor we delve into our past and counselor will say "It sounds like this to me" (then what am going thru). Then I have two weeks to think "Ok, what can I do for a month, a year or... FOREVER! to subdue my negative feelings?

Now, with counseling you, as the patient or client have TWO options. You can talk to a person in the room then forget about it. OR! You can listen, see what counselor says and think how can I improve??? The second option SHOULD be your aim. Maybe u have a session or 2 and u dk wha to do? ask the counselor wha you should do? Weeks, months or years work on the situation to do.

Say for an example your counselor says "It sounds like your mind says one thing body another." This means you have to FIRST! Is that the case? Agree or disagree. If agreed you have to synchronise your mind in with your body. Meditation, exercise or simple things where mind agrees but body doesn't. Mind is saying "I should go for a jog not nap..." Go for a jog!!! Mind says "I should iron all the clothes" but physical and mentally, u feel tired and leave a few clothes for next time... " MAKE YER BODY IRON ALLLL THE CLOTHES! Simple activities as such will intune your mind with the body.

I hope this helps and remember! If one psychiatrist seemed impolite or rude, try another one. Never give up hope.
